VIDEO: Jets fans go nuts after Stempniak opens scoring against Ducks

Bruce Fedyck / USA Today

Lee Stempniak's goal in the first period of Monday's Game 3 between the Winnipeg Jets and the Anaheim Ducks was by no means the nicest goal of the playoffs, but it might have been the most cathartic.

Stempniak slid the puck in from the slot following a broken play on a rush, giving the Jets an early lead and releasing a tidal wave of energy from the fans in the MTS Centre. The standing ovation continued through the ensuing center-ice faceoff.

The Ducks clawed back to tie the game in the first period. The Jets lead 4-3 in the second.
