Bob Hartley has gone to bat for the Calgary Flames all season. This time it's going to cost him.

The Flames bench boss was fined $50,000 for his role in the line brawl that took place late in the team's 4-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks in Game 2, the NHL announced Saturday.

Upwards of 100 penalty minute were doled out in the melee, which occurred deep in the Canucks zone with a little over a minute left.

Flames defenseman Deryk Engelland received a double game misconduct and an instigator penalty during the incident, which has since been rescinded. He will not be suspended.

Hartley was fined $25,000 for his role in a similar incident last year.
