Predators lose captain Weber to lower-body injury

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA Today

Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber left for the dressing room in the second period of Friday's Game 2 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Weber did not appear to be able to put weight on his right leg as he left the ice, according to Kristopher Martel of FOX Sports.

He did not return to the contest, and the Predators didn't provide an update after the game, only reiterating that the defender suffered a lower-body injury

Weber had an assist and logged over 13 minutes of ice before departing.

Weber appeared to suffer the injury after taking a hit along the boards from Blackhawks forward Brandon Saad.
