Tom Szczerbowski / USA Today

Nazem Kadri and David Booth scored for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first period of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, ending the team's latest streak of futility.

The Maple Leafs, who already flirted with a franchise-record losing streak during this lost season, had not held a lead in a game since March 11 - a span of 26 periods of hockey. Kadri ended the streak with his 17th goal 8:53 into the contest.
