PHOTO: Commentator takes puck to forehead, finishes game anyway

Covering hockey games can be a dangerous job.

Just ask NBC commentator Brian Engblom, who was hit in the forehead by a puck while stationed between the player benches during Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the San Jose Sharks.

Engblom required stitches to close the resulting cut but was all smiles when he returned at the start of the third period.

Engblom was something of a trailblazer for head safety during his playing days. He was an NHL defenseman from 1977-87 and wore a helmet during an era when helmets were rare.
