VIDEO: Getzlaf's beauty OT winner vs. Bruins keeps Senators in playoff spot

Charles LeClaire / USA Today

Ryan Getzlaf scored the overtime winner for the Anaheim Ducks against the Boston Bruins on Thursday night, but it was the Ottawa Senators who reaped the benefits.

The Bruins looked poised to win the game until Corey Perry tied it with the goalie pulled and just 39 seconds on the clock.

The teams went to overtime, where - with 1:41 left - Getzlaf fired a hard wrist-shot over the glove of Tuukka Rask.

By just capturing one point in the loss, the Bruins failed to pass the Senators - who lost 5-1 to the New York Rangers on Thursday - in the standings. Though both teams have 85 points, Ottawa remains ahead with two games in hand.

With the win the Ducks also took over first place in the Western Conference with 101 points.
