Connor McDavid extended his franchise-record point streak to 25 games in Wednesday's OHL action with a five-point performance against the Barrie Colts.

The  consensus top pick for the 2015 NHL draft recorded two goals and three assists in the contest, marking the third time in five games McDavid has finished with at least five points. He has nine goals and 11 assists in that five-game span.

The Erie Otters captain scored a power-play goal 1:15 into Wednesday's game and added two assists in the following 6:05. He was held off the scoresheet in the second period but recorded a goal and an assist in the opening 84 seconds of the third.

McDavid is third in the OHL's scoring race with 107 points - five fewer than teammate Dylan Strome, who has played 20 more games. He is one goal shy of reaching 40 - a plateau he seems likely to reach Saturday when Erie and Barrie face off again.
