Boston Bruins forward Brett Connolly suffered an injury in practice Wednesday that will sideline him for over a month.
The winger will miss six weeks with a displaced fracture in his right index finger.
Connolly left the skate early after taking a puck to the hand and was immediately evaluated by team doctors.
He was hit by a shot off the stick of Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg, according to WEEI's D.J. Bean.
The Bruins acquired Connolly in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday morning.
