Senators' Hammond gets start after team initially tabs Anderson

Marc DesRosiers / USA TODAY Sports

Ottawa Senators goaltender Andrew Hammond will get his seventh straight start Wednesday despite the team's initial announcement that Craig Anderson would get the nod.

Head coach Dave Cameron tabbed Anderson for the start against the Winnipeg Jets, but the veteran then admitted he wasn't ready.

Anderson has been sidelined by a hand injury since Jan. 21.

Hammond will, in turn, get his second start in two days. The rookie was the NHL's first star last week and is 5-0-1 with a .955 save percentage and a 1.40 goals-against average.
