Life must be difficult for a San Jose Sharks fan.

The Sharks have enjoyed a run of consistency surpassed only by the Detroit Red Wings since being awarded a team in 1991. San Jose has missed the playoffs a total of three times since the start of the 1993-94 season and has yet to miss the postseason in the salary cap era.

But the Sharks have just three conference final berths for all their regular-season success, gaining a reputation as the playoff chokers of the NHL. So it's not that far-fetched for fans to lash out now that their team looks destined to golf during the opening round for the first time since 2003.

The Sharks are 2-7-1 in their last 10 games and have a 17.5 percent chance to make the playoffs according to Sports Club Stats, which is low enough to lead these fans to don paper bags for Monday's contest against the Montreal Canadiens.
