Yandle on his Rangers debut: 'The crowd did a great job in welcoming me'

Keith Yandle isn't used to playing in front of large home crowds from his time with the Arizona Coyotes, so his New York Rangers debut at Madison Square Garden was a bit of an adjustment.

"I had a little bit of butterflies. The crowd did a great job in welcoming me," Yandle told reporters after a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators. "All the guys made it an easy day for me."

Yandle finished with three shots and one hit in 19:41 time on ice. It will take time for him to learn New York's system because the team plays a more free-flowing style than the rigid defensive focus of Arizona.

The 28-year-old blue-liner isn't sure he's ever played on such a good team at both ends of the ice.
