The Detroit Red Wings have acquired defenseman Marek Zidlicky from the New Jersey Devils, as first reported by TSN's Bob McKenzie.

The Devils will receive a conditional third-round pick, which will become a second-round selection if the Red Wings make the Stanley Cup Final.

Both teams have confirmed the trade.

Zidlicky waived his no-trade clause to facilitate the deal, according to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet.

The 38-year-old has 23 points in 63 games and carries a cap hit of $3 million, one-third of which will reportedly be retained by the Devils.
