The newest additions to the Chicago Blackhawks - Kimmo Timonen and Antoine Vermette - are expected to make their debuts with the team Monday.

Timonen was acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday, while Vermette came from the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.

The additions were made to strengthen the Blackhawks' already strong defense, as well as attempting to fill the void left by the injured Patrick Kane.

The 32-year-old Vermette will slot in at the second-line center spot, while there are no reports of who Timonen will play alongside.

Vermette had 35 points in 63 games with the Coyotes prior to the trade.

Timonen will play his first game of the season, having suffered from blood clots in his lung and leg.
