Flyers' Timonen says he's 'good to go' Saturday vs. Rangers

The Philadelphia Flyers are set to receive a boost for their postseason push, both physical and emotional in nature.

Kimmo Timonen declared himself fit to return to NHL ice for Saturday's game versus the New York Rangers while speaking with reporters after Thursday's practice in Toronto.

"If they want me to play Saturday, I think I’m good to go,” Timonen said. "I got Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday really good practices in, so every day has been better, and now I have to start playing games somewhere down the road. So if that's Saturday then that's good, if it's not Saturday then it's next week.”

The veteran defenseman only returned to practice ice Feb. 6, missing the first five months of the season and having his career cast in doubt after blood clots were found in his leg and lungs last summer.
