Ducks' Brewer activated off injured reserve, will play after a few practices

Eric Brewer is hoping to get off on a better foot in Anaheim.

The Ducks defenseman, out since Dec. 1 with a broken bone in his foot, has been activated off injured reserved. Head coach Bruce Boudreau indicated Brewer will likely return to game action sometime next week after a few full practices.

Brewer appeared in only two games for the Ducks after being acquired from Tampa Bay, failing to record a point while averaging over 18 minutes of ice time.
