Penguins' Fleury jokes about 'getting booed and cheered for nothing' at All-Star Game

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury had the thankless job of minding the net for Team Foligno during the second period of Sunday's All-Star Game.

"It was a slow period. It felt like forever," Fleury said after the game. "I think after 10 minutes, it was six goals in already. I was like, that's a tough one (laughs)."

Columbus Blue Jackets fans in attendance gave him a hard time throughout his appearance, reacting to every goal and save with boos or sarcastic cheers, but Fleury shrugged off the extra attention as part of the experience.

"That's a good thing because we beat them in the playoffs last year, so I guess that's why," he said. "Other than getting booed and cheered for nothing, it was a good weekend. Think I had some fun hanging out with the guys, to be on the ice with them was fun."

Fleury allowed seven goals on 16 shots in his 20 minutes, posting the lowest save percentage of the six goaltenders in the contest - not the result he was hoping for.

"I was getting a little mad," he said. "You want to have some fun, but when you're a goalie, it's frustrating when it goes in. I laughed for a few, but a few of them, I cringed a little bit."

Fleury's sieve-like performance led at least one reporter to wonder whether he bet the over.

"Maybe I did," Fleury said, grinning. "Who knows?"
