Sabres recall Pysyk, Schaller from AHL

Kevin Hoffman / USA Today

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Mark Pysyk is getting another crack at the NHL.

The Sabres recalled the former first-round pick on Sunday, along with forward Tim Schaller, as their list of injured players grows. Tyson Strachan and Torrey Mitchell were placed on injured reserve to accommodate the roster move.

Pysyk has 63 games of NHL experience over the last two seasons, but started 2014-15 in the AHL. He will likely draw into Buffalo's lineup should Tyler Myers be unable to play after suffering an injury Saturday.
