Maple Leafs make Jake Gardiner a healthy scratch for 3rd time this season

It would appear that Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake Gardiner will indeed watch Saturday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers from the press box at the Air Canada Centre.

UPDATE: Jake Gardiner has officially been scratched

Gardiner, 24, has appeared in 30 games with the Maple Leafs managing two goals and eight points. This will be the third time that he's been a healthy scratch.

With Gardiner coming out of the lineup, depth defender Korbinian Holzer - who fared well in the absence of Roman Polak - will draw back into the lineup. He's expected to play on the third-pair with Morgan Rielly, while two right-handed shooters, Stephane Robidas and Polak, will play together on the team's probable second pair.
