Canadiens' Pacioretty helped off of the ice after questionable Stoner hit

Tom Szczerbowski / USA TODAY Sports

Star Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty left Thursday night's game against the Anaheim Ducks following a bad hit by Ducks defender Clayton Stoner.

Pacioretty was admiring a pass about three feet away from the boards when Stoner hit him, in the numbers, and into the wall head-first. The hit appeared to be late, and Pacioretty contacted the boards awkwardly.

While Stoner was not assessed a penalty on the play, Pacioretty left the ice with the help of Canadiens trainers. He did not return.
