VIDEO: Blackhawks' Versteeg sets up Kane with perfect through-the-legs pass

Chicago Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg has proved inconsistent in recent seasons.

The skilled 28-year-old has been traded by a variety of franchises in recent seasons, including the Florida Panthers, who retained a hearty portion of his salary and cap-hit in order to cut ties with him. Versteeg followed up that deal in unspectacular fashion, underwhelming enormously in his first season with the Blackhawks since the 2009-10 season.

Lately, though, Versteeg seems to have found a home on a secondary scoring line with Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane and aging center Brad Richards. Playing with skilled offensive players like Richards and Kane, he has elevated his game to the tune of five goals and 11 points in his last 10 games.

On Friday evening Versteeg stayed hot, setting up a Kane goal with a spectacular between-the-legs drop pass into the slot.

That's just nasty!

Versteeg has the skill set to execute a sequence of superb quality like that one. The question for the Blackhawks remains, though: can he do it often enough to warrant a cushy spot on a key forward line?
