Winnipeg Jets rookie Adam Lowry is set to make the acquaintance of the NHL's Department of Player Safety.
Lowry will have a hearing with the league's safety bureau Thursday to address his hit on Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta, the NHL announced.
The Jets' winger was ejected from Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Sabres for driving his seemingly unsuspecting opponent through the boards with a direct hit from behind.
