VIDEO: Ovechkin practices his nuclear bomb of a one-timer
Amber Searls / USA TODAY Sports
Mired in a career-high five-game scoring drought, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin put in some practice time on his already incomparably-dangerous one-time slap shot from the top of the left circle on Thursday:
Apparently he managed to hit the net with 15 consecutive high velocity one-timers, which is genuine machine-like:
Fifteen in a row is pretty good. With a goaltender and four penalty-killers on the ice, Ovechkin probably would've only found the back of the net on 4.5 of those one-timers (based on his actual location specific shooting percentage since the 2008-09 season).
