Oilers' Eakins 'not terribly upset' following loss to Predators

Kirby Lee / USA Today

Dallas Eakins was reportedly on the hot seat before the Edmonton Oilers won four straight games, but the winning streak appears to have bought him a little leeway.

The Nashville Predators brought that streak to an end Wednesday, handing the Oilers a 4-1 loss. Edmonton was outshot 35-27 in the game and finished 0-for-2 on the power play, but Eakins doesn't seem too concerned about the way his team played.

The Oilers won all four of their games at home, where they will close a seven-game homestand on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks, who have already defeated them twice. Eakins will certainly need more than a mediocre performance from his players in that contest.
