Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson provided an illustration of just how close he came to suffering a life-changing injury Friday night.

Atkinson was clipped across the eyelid by the skate of Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Kesler. Thankfully, he appears to be OK.
