Sabres' Pysyk out 'for a little while' after injury in preseason game

Timothy T. Ludwig / USA Today

Defenseman Mark Pysyk left Tuesday's preseason game with an upper-body injury that could jeopardize his chances of cracking the Buffalo Sabres' roster.

Pysyk, selected in the first round of the 2012 draft, has 63 career NHL games under his belt over the last two seasons. He was expected to compete for a full-time spot on Buffalo's blue line, but the Sabres might need to look elsewhere if his injury keeps him sidelined for an extended period of time.
