Jay Rosehill wins Flyers' fastest skater, wants everyone to know

Jay Rosehill may be the quickest Philadelphia Flyer to 100 penalty minutes or the fastest to pay the NHL's disciplinary piper this season, but it's his foot speed (not hand speed) he wants to be recognized for.

"How come no one has asked me about winning the fastest skater?" Rosehill said in the Flyers' dressing room via CSN. "That’s big news, isn't it?"

As legend goes, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound policeman beat out the likes of Jacob Voracek and Michael Raffl to win the Flyers' fastest skater competition at training camp.

"I know I had a chuckle," he said.

Rosehill may have been surprised, but his coach and former enforcer Craig Berube wasn't.

"Not really. He’s a fast guy straight ahead. He skates well, Rosey. He’s pretty quick."

Indictment on the Flyers' team speed, or exaltation for Philly's tough guys? Your call.
