Panthers' Mitchell on Luongo: 'No one wants to win a Stanley Cup more than Roberto'

The Vancouver Canucks finally set goaltender Roberto Luongo free when they traded him to the Florida Panthers. Luongo will reunite with defenseman Willie Mitchell, who was a Canuck before his stint with the Los Angeles Kings.

"No one wants to win a Stanley Cup more than Roberto; he cares so much that sometimes I hate to say this but you care too much and you start chasing it trying to make other people happy," Mitchell told The Sun Sentinel.

Mitchell is confident Luongo will be happier and a better goaltender in Florida.

"Coming back down here is a breath of fresh air for him because, who's kidding who, it's not (the same) market, there's not that pressure and he could be himself. I think you'll see the best of him."

Luongo agreed, acknowledging his mind is "at ease" after the trade. "I can focus on one task, and that's stopping pucks."
