Nathan MacKinnon is the presumptive Calder Trophy winner after a 24-goal, 63-point regular season, but the Colorado Avalanche rookie's performance so far in his first taste of playoff action is arguably even more impressive.

MacKinnon followed a three-assist performance in his playoff debut on Thursday by scoring his first career postseason goal in a fashion that did not disappoint.

The 18-year-old powered past Minnesota captain Mikko Koivu in the neutral zone before crossing the blue line and cutting towards the right faceoff circle, causing Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon to trip over his own skates.

MacKinnon's shot beat Ilya Bryzgalov to the blocker side, tying Game 2 at 1-1 6:20 into the contest.

MacKinnon finished the game with four points (one goal, three assists) to tie an NHL record with seven points in his first two postseason contests.
