GIF: Leafs' Gleason drills Brendan Smith from behind

Infuriated by contact with Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer earlier in the shift, Tim Gleason stepped outside the rules of the rink to get retribution on his Red Wing counterpart, Brendan Smith. 

After battling behind the net, Gleason finished the sequence by throwing his entire body weight under Smith's label, driving him face-first into the boards and causing a pretty dramatic neck recoil.

Gleason drew a two-minute boarding penalty for the unapologetic action, but could endure a much severer punishment should NHL officials determine malicious intent.
