Krejci on playing for Czech Republic in Sochi: 'We didn't even know what we were doing'

Forward David Krejci has returned from the 2014 Winter Olympics, and admits to the fact that his Czech Republic team may hot have been the smoothest running ship in Sochi.

“I thought we were all over the place. … We didn't even know what we were doing at some points,” Krejci told Dan Cagen of the Milford Daily News. “It was fun. I had a good time, but I'm glad I'm back here and playing Boston hockey.”

Krejci added coach Alois Hadamczik did implement a system, but the way the team played was somewhat disorganized.

"Coach told us a couple things, but the rest of it had to be on the ice and when we were on the ice, we did our own things and Coach let us do our own," he said. "It was good, and then the last game it kind of burned us with bad goals."

The team was marred by questionable roster and lineup decisions, went 1-2-0 in the preliminary round and was eventually bounced in the quarterfinals by Team USA. Vladimir Ruzicka has been tabbed as the new head coach for the Czech Republic.
