Report: St. Louis asked for trade after being left off Team Canada
Apparently the snub that originally had Tampa Bay Lightning forward Martin St. Louis on the outside looking in on the Sochi Olympics went over terribly. St. Louis' own general manager Steve Yzerman selected Canada's team. Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reports St. Louis asked for a trade after the team was announced.
It's believed St.Louis did ask #Lightning 4 trade when left off Canada. I'm told some #NHL clubs not sure if he still feels the same way now

Lightning beat writer Erik Erlendsson has commented on the situation and says he has no knowledge of a trade being in place and believes the gold medal has smoothed things over.
St. Louis was named to Team Canada just days before the Olympic break as an injury replacement for Lightning forward Steven Stamkos.
