GIF: T.J. Oshie makes yet another goaltender look foolish in the shootout
Among the 50 active NHL players with more than 40 career attempts in the shootout, St. Louis Blues forward and American Olympian T.J. Oshie is one of only three skaters to convert on more than 50% of opportunities. The other two? Backhand Shelf patron saint Franz Nielsen, and Jonathan Toews. That's pretty good company.
On Saturday afternoon Oshie demonstrated once again why he's one of the league's premier shootout options with a filthy deke that beat Jets goaltender Al Montoya:

Oshie's quick shot fake, back-hand, fore-hand move here is just ridiculous. As for Montoya, he's just the latest goaltender to look foolish when facing Oshie head-to-head in the shootout.
The Blues forward's mastery of the skill competition was a major reason the USA Hockey brain trust selected him for the men's Olympic ice hockey team (ahead of other contenders like Bobby Ryan and Brandon Saad). In a single game elimination tournament like the Olympics, USA Hockey's gamble may pay off over the coming weeks.
