NHL players react to Richard Sherman's interview after NFC Championship win

Twitter was abuzz in the aftermath of Sunday's NFC Championship game in Seattle, mainly in relation to Richard Sherman's post-game interview with Erin Andrews.

Several NHL players chimed in on Sherman's reaction to the Seahawks' victory, and more specifically his role in securing the win.

Some reacted in amusement with a touch of sarcasm.

Others became instant Broncos fans while calling Sherman out for his perceived lack of class.

One AHL forward made the argument for a Vancouver / Calgary type event in response to these kinds of comments.

And perhaps most tellingly, some drew a clear line between the worlds of hockey and football, arguing that one would never see such a thing on the ice.

It's an interesting point to make, especially in light of the recent conversation over P.K. Subban's goal-celebration in Ottawa, followed up by James van Riemsdyk's mocking jersey-tug on Saturday.

While the common argument is that one should "act like you've been there before", human beings have a tendency to react to events in real-time. Hockey culture tends to look down on this kind of behaviour, but perhaps the NHL could benefit from a bit more Sherman-like raw emotion from time to time.
