Flames G Karri Ramo records first career shutout

It took 69 games for Flames goaltender Karri Ramo to record his first career shutout, which he did at long last on Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Ramo stopped 23 Carolina shots in the 2-0 Flames victory. By recording a shutout in his 69th career game, Ramo - who had a career save percentage of .900 going into Monday night's contest - avoided the indignity of becoming one of just five goaltenders to appear more than 70 times in their NHL career without recording a shutout in the modern era.

It's a list that currently includes only four names: Pokey Reddick, Jim Hrivnak, Hardy Astrom and Darren Pang.
