Maple Leafs drop 7 of last 10, Carlyle says 'It's a crisis'

The Toronto Maple Leafs have lost seven of their last ten games, and haven't participated in a late close game since December 7th. Many players are frustrated, and that includes head coach Randy Carlyle who called their performance 'a crisis' as of late.

After Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Florida Panthers, Carlyle only had one point to made in his post-game press conference. "It's a crisis that we haven't won enough games. That's the way I would deem it."

Goaltender James Reimer had some choice words for the performance of the team as well. "We either have guys or half a team or a full team that don't show up at parts and then things go wrong. There's never an excuse. Injuries, tired, it's all BS. Those are excuses and they're useless."

Forward Mason Raymond said it best when he said "We simply got embarrassed." Captain Dion Phaneuf assured media members that his play was disappointing, "I've got better. I made some mistakes tonight that are unacceptable."

Adding insult to injury, center Trevor Smith left the game with a broken hand after blocking a shot.
