GIF: Canadiens F Lars Eller penalized for illegal check to the head of Islanders C Tavares

Montreal Canadiens center Lars Eller caught New York Islanders captain John Tavares with an illegal check to the head in the third period of Saturday night's game. Eller hit Tavares as he protected the puck while circling the Montreal net, and sent Tavares' helmet flying skyward:

Eller was assessed a minor penalty on the play, and Tavares has remained in the game though he's received intermittent treatment on the Islanders bench.
