Report: Predators may allow Filip Forsberg to play at World Juniors

The Nashville Predators may allow 19-year old forward Filip Forsberg to suit up for Team Sweden at the World Junior Hockey Championship, head coach Barry Trotz told a a local radio station on Wednesday.

Forsberg has been in and out of the lineup for several reasons this season, and has spent time both in the AHL and in the press box as a healthy scratch. In 12 games for the Predators, Forsberg has scored one goal and added four assists, while registering one goal and five assists in four AHL games.

A trip back to Sweden for the World Junior tournament may be just what Forsberg needs to kick start his promising career in the NHL.
