Paul MacLean on Craig Anderson: 'I pulled him because it was four goals'

Ottawa Senators head coach Paul MacLean offered a straightforward answer in regards to why starting goaltender Craig Anderson was given the hook during Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

Anderson has been especially awful in November, allowing four goals in each of his last four starts, causing his overall goals against average to jump to 3.51 and his save percentage to dip to .894.

According to Bruce Garrioch, Ottawa fans cheered loudly as Anderson skated to the bench in lieu of Robin Lehner. For his part, MacLean spread the blame around, saying "I'm worried about our whole team, not just (Anderson)."

Lehner has posted a record of 4-4-2 with a .937 save percentage and a 2.38 goals against average, and one might expect that he'll get the start when Daniel Alfredsson and the Detroit Red Wings visit on Saturday.
