Former players sue league over concussions

Ten former NHL players have sued the NHL for concussions. Pierre LeBrun listed the players to be Gary Leeman, Brad Aitken, Darren Banks, Curt Bennett, Richard Dunn, Warren Holmes, Bob Manno, Blair Stewart, Morris Titanic and Rick Vaive.

On lawyer Mel Owens' personal blog, Rick Vaive said the following.

"Many of the former NHL players are suffering from debilitating head injuries from their time in the league," Vaive is quoted as saying. "Hopefully this lawsuit will shine a light on the problem and the players can get the help they deserve."

The NHLPA had no comment, as they are not part of the lawsuit.

Bryzgalov makes Oilers debut - in relief

The Edmonton Oilers were planning on starting newly signed goalie Ilya Bryzgalov on Thursday in Nashville or Friday in Columbus. That plan may be still be intact, only it won't be his debut in an Oilers uniform.

After allowing four goals on 14 shots, Devan Dubnyk was pulled in favor of Ilya Bryzgalov, and boy did the Edmonton faithful love that!

On the night, he stopped 12 of 13 shots, and had this to say after the contest.

And head coach Dallas Eakins.
