NHL ticket prices rise, average ticket now costs $61.62

The NHL is experiencing just what NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said was going to happen after the lockout last season. Ticket prices have risen by 2.3% over the last season. The average ticket will cost you $61.62, while a group of four including food and drink rose 3.1% costing an average of $359.17.

While tickets continue to the climb, one thing stays the same. The Toronto Maple Leafs still have the most expensive average ticket of all teams at $122.20. The Dallas Stars have the cheapest average ticket at $37.28.

Out of the 30 teams, 21 of them have increased ticket prices. The Chicago Blackhawks have increased their tickets by 16%, which is the highest rise over one season out of all teams.

And possibly the most important price rise goes to the beer. The average price of a beer in an NHL arena is $7.34 per 16 ounces. The league average increased by 5.7% in this area.
