Dubinsky on Koivu hit 'I'm not a dirty player'
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky defended himself on Sunday night following his ejection for a hit that "knocked out" well-respected Anaheim Ducks centerman Saku Koivu.
"I thought my shoulder and elbow were tucked," Dubinsky told Columbus Dispatch beat writer Aaron Portzline. "I went out there to make a hit not hurt somebody. I'm not a dirty player."
While Dubinsky has never been suspended by the National Hockey League, he was fined during the lockout abbreviated 2013 campaign for boarding then Kings defenseman Rob Scuderi.
