Alfredsson brushes off loss to former team

Daniel Alfredsson didn't have much to say after the Detroit Red Wings lost 6-1 to his old team, the Ottawa Senators.

"It was a different game, the way it turned out," Alfredsson said to USA Today, via Pro Hockey Talk. "It didn't feel too crazy. The warm-up was what it was and once the game got going, you're really into it. The game didn't turn into a good battle."

Even his former teammates were understanding.

"I understand the emotion of the fans and how it becomes personal," captain Jason Spezza said after the game. "But for us as players, you try to separate the personal. It was nice to see Alfie in the morning."
