VIDEO: Sharks' Couture, Pavelski criticize Blues' Lapierre over hit on Boyle

Following San Jose's 6-2 victory on Tuesday night against the St. Louis Blues, Sharks forward Logan Couture and teammate Joe Pavelski sounded off about the hit on teammate Dan Boyle which sent the Sharks defenseman to the hospital.

In particular, Couture had some extremely harsh words for Blues pest Maxim Lapierre who threw the injurious hit on Boyle. Lapierre was assessed a major penalty for "checking from behind" on the play and a game misconduct.

"It's just disgusting to see a kind of play like that," said Couture. "A player who probably shouldn't even be in this league is taking out one of the best players in the world.... I don't even know. It's pretty gutless, and then he turtles... Nothing else to say about that."

On Boyle's condition following the hit, Couture added: "It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen in my life."

Here's the full video of Couture's comments:

Added Sharks forward Joe Pavelski, "It's a wake up call in a lot of ways. Things like that happen, especially when idiots are idiots."
