Tim Thomas named first star in first start since 2012

Tim Thomas looks to have not skipped a beat despite not starting an NHL game in more than a year. Thomas led the Florida Panthers to a 4-2 victory over the Dallas Stars in his Panthers' debut.

Thomas was named the game's first star after making 25 saves and allowing only two goals, good for a .926 save percentage.

If Thomas is able to play at the same level he was at with the Boston Bruins, there's a chance we may have to start thinking of the Panthers as a legitimate threat to make the playoffs.

Hey, stranger things have happened.
