Players chime in on Twitter about hybrid icing
With the news on Monday night that the NHL would go to a "hybrid icing" rule for the 2013-14 NHL season, several players chimed in with some thoughts on Twitter. Uniformly the public comments were supportive.
Minnesota Wild prospect Tyler Cuma had this to say:
Glad to see that hybrid icing will be in effect. Could save a lot of players from potential career ending injuries. Good call here #NHL

Former NHL forward Brian Sutherby supported the new change as well:

New Florida Panther Ryan Whitney was supportive of the change, particularly after seeing what former teammate Taylor Fedun went through after a scary accident on a touch icing sequence:

And Fedun himself shared his thoughts about the new rules. Understandably, he's very supportive of the NHLPA decision:
