Flyers clear day one salary cap by slimmest of margins

The Philadelphia Flyers are profligate spenders. Between their big payroll and the necessity of maintaining the fiction that Chris Pronger isn't retired, it's always a tricky situation for them to get under the salary-cap on "day one" of the regular season.

This year the club limbo'd under the bar by the narrowest of margins:

How'd they manage it? They turned in a 21-man roster, instead of the usual 23.

Once Chris Pronger's contract goes on LTIR, the team will have some breathing room. At which point they're expected to either sign Hal Gill, or recall forward Adam Hall. Or both.
