Report: Seth Jones to play with Shea Weber in Nashville

Rookie defenseman Seth Jones is going to be given every opportunity to prove himself if a report from Jason Gregor is to be believed.

Gregor reports that Jones will play in the Predators' top-four and will likely be paired with perennial all-star Shea Weber.

Jones was drafted fourth overall by the Predators in the 2013 NHL Draft and is expected to make an immediate impact on the Preds' blue line. Jones was expected to go as high as first in the draft but fell to fourth after three forwards went ahead of him.

Jones was ranked first among North American skaters by Central Scouting before the draft.

Last season with the Portland Winterhawks, Jones played in 61 games, scoring 14 goals and adding 42 assists as well as being a standout player for the Americans at the World Junior Championships.

The Predators open their season on October 3rd against the St. Louis Blues.
