Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Craig Anderson made 34 saves for his third shutout of the season in the Ottawa Senators' 2-0 victory over the struggling Washington Capitals on Tuesday.
Kyle Turris and Jason Spezza scored for the Senators, who have won seven straight against Washington.
Braden Holtby stopped 24-of-26 shots for the Capitals, who have lost six straight games (0-4-2) for the first time since an 0-6-2 stretch from Dec. 2-18, 2010.
Washington forward Alex Ovechkin, who is the NHL's leading goal scorer, missed Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury. It was the third contest Ovechkin sat out this season due to injury.
