NHL Game Summary - Calgary at Carolina

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Karri Ramo stopped 23 shots to post his first career NHL shutout, as Calgary silenced Carolina, 2-0, on Monday.

Ramo had played 48 games with the Lightning from 2006-09, and spent the next four seasons in Russia before the Flames took a chance on the 27-year-old Finn in the offseason. He posted 18 whitewashes for Avangard Omsk in the KHL.

Mikael Backlund and Sean Monahan provided offense for the Flames, who put a three-game losing skid to rest.

Anton Khudobin was the hard-luck loser after making 27 saves for the Hurricanes, blanked for the second straight game after winning five in a row.
