NHL Game Summary - Edmonton at Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Martin Jones posted 24 stops for his third shutout of his rookie season as the Los Angeles Kings took a 3-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.

Jones played his sixth game of the season, and kept his goals-against average under 1.00 as he has allowed five markers in six games. He is the first Los Angeles goalie to begin his career 6-0-0.

Dwight King, Jordan Nolan and Dustin Brown all scored for the Kings, whose loss to Chicago on Sunday snapped a six-game winning streak.

Ilya Bryzgalov gave up two goals on 39 shots for the Oilers, who have dropped their past four.

Los Angeles went on top at 16:38 of the first period as Drew Doughty skated down the slot before firing a pass to his right for King, who held on to the puck and got Bryzgalov out of position before sliding it low into the net.

Jones made seven saves in the first period, then turned away 12 more in the second to keep the Oilers off the boards. Bryzgalov made 15 saves in the second period to keep it a one-goal game.

The Kings got some insurance with 4:38 to play as Matt Greene flipped the puck into the Edmonton end for a line change, but it wound up on the stick of Nolan at the left circle and he quickly shot it in for a 2-0 lead.

Brown scored with the net empty in the final minute shortly after LA killed off a power play for his 400th career point.
